Hi All!
A new day is upon me and this is the first post of my new blog. I wanted to start this as I have so many new friends now who want to know how I am doing and that is so cool! Since joining Shepherd of Hope Christian Chat as well as Rest Ministries I have been making new friends online and it has been wonderful! These new Christian friends are precious to me and I want to keep them all informed as to how I am doing on a bi-weekly basis.
There have been a lot of changes in my life in the last couple of weeks. I have been reinstated to the Pain Clinic at St. Paul's Hospital here in Vancouver, BC Canada and I have been given some new medications and taken off a couple of medicines as well. It has been a difficult adjustment as the medicine has side effects and I have been really drowsy with one of the medicines that I take. So that is not good as my wife gets so upset that I do not have the energy to do the things that I need to get done around the house! :-) So that can create a few challenges but I am doing my best not to get worried about it all!
I have a church friend of mine George who is 84 years old and you would never know it! He is so full of energy and loves life to the fullest! Oh I wish that I could just have half the energy that he has I would be so happy! :-) It would be so cool to have it right now but I am thankful to God for what I do have. George has been encouraging me to get involved in new things and something that he is passionate about and that is food. So I subscribed to Kraft and a few other food website newsletters so that I could get recipes and such so that I can learn how to cook better. My first real challenge is coming this weekend when we invited some friends over for supper. I will be making butternut squash soup and Zesty Shrimp Linguine so that should be really nice! I will let you know how it goes and if I still have my friends afterwards! :-)
Well, as I mentioned I have been really drowsy from one of the medicines that I am taking for pain for my Fibromyalgia. It is an antidepressant but the Doctor is giving me a low dose amount to use so that during the day my pain would not be so intense. Also it is used to help me sleep better at night as well.
Please pray for me as I am slowly coming off the morphine that the Doctor prescribed as I have been on this medicine since 2003 so that is a long time! The way the Doctor is bringing me off the med is supposed to be good so that I do not have any withdrawal symptoms.
Well, everybody please comment on my post if you have the time and I do look forward to hearing from all of you sometime soon!
Hugs & Blessings,
Chris
